Family Fun 2010 Cake

Hi all, well this isn't a post of a card or a LO or an altered item, it is about cake!!! I used my Cricut Cake for the second time today, to make 2 cakes. One is for a family corn roast tomorrow, and the other is for my momma, her birthday is on Sunday, I will have to post her cake and card(they are matching) on Monday...she will peak for sure if I post it now.
the first pic is the cake with white fondant on it...

this is the first layer of cut fondant in blue...

and the 2nd layer in red fondant...

and the final layer in yellow... the cake is done.
it was all done using the LAB cartridge and designing it on my Gypsy.

Here I am.....

I know I know I have been MIA for a while now, I have just not felt very crafty and my pool has been sooo nice....
well I think I have my craftiness(is that a word LOL) back, because I made 2 cards today and I am so happy with the way they came out, I would really love to know what you all think of them....actually I can only post one today because the other is for my mom's birthday, sunday...and she is a little nosey and may try to peak...soooooo I am not going to post that one until monday, but for today I can post the card I made for my neices 20th Birthday, she plays guitar so I made her a guitar shape card.....



the Guitar is from EDPD cart, and the flowers and the vines are from CAC, the Happy Birthday is cut from the Elegant Cakes cart, I am so pleased with the way this card came out, I also inked up the edges and added a little glitter pen here and there...

wow I have not posted in awhile, so sorry, I have not felt very creative lately, so I thought why not check out some challenges to try and get my mojo flowing again, so ....... here is my entry for Craft Junkie Too's Summer Craft Challenge, and Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #31,
for CJT she asked for a summer related project, so I made a summery birthday card and for PKS I followed the sketch,

here is the card I made....

I had fun with this sketch, I used CAC cartridge, and I used PKS Simple Simons (PK-530)for the crabs face, Stickles, and I used Maya Mist on the sand and the sand castle, they are so shimmery, and I wrote "Crabby Birthday" on the castle for the semtiment.( my attempt to be funny.....sorry)

Treat Cards

Can I tell you that This Create A Critter cartridge from Provo Craft, is my all time favourite!!!! the Hippo was cut from there, but the Bear was from Doodlecharms. So I stopped by one of my new fovourite blogs the other day, Veronica's Cricut Creations and Veronica had made the cutest Treat Card with a bee on it, using a Wilton candy mold, she has a video to explain how to do this you can watch it here.
So I got out my gypsy and started to play with some images and cut out the Bear card first, then I did the Hippo, I love how they turned out!!! I also used some glossy accents, some stickles and lots of pop dots.

Our First Cake

So today was the day, to try out my Cricut Cake, it is definitely fun to use.
My son's ex-girlfriend(they are still very good friends) Alexandra wanted to make her mom a birthday cake, so I thought this was a good time to try it out, this is my first time using fondant ever, so there are a few wrinkles, but it wasn't to bad and I think I will get better at it, now to choose our images, well our first image choice cut nice, but were impossible to get off the mat and on to the cake. on to plan B choosing new images, these worked much better. by now I was also dealing with a very impatient 17yr old, LOL. well before long things were getting exciting again, and it was starting to look really nice. In the end she was very happy with how it turned out and her mom loved it. I hope you enjoy the pictures, we would love to hear what you think of it.
Oh and yes that butterfly is very sparkly, Alexandra loves the bling bling, and the butterfly needed something, so she went to my craft stuff, and promised she would not let anyone eat the butterfly, and she stickled it LMAO !!!!
